Fisheye landscape
All of the images shown on this page were captured using an extremely wide-angle Samyang (Rokinon) 8mm f/3.5 fisheye lens, mounted on Sony Alpha series DSLR cameras. This is admittedly a rather unusual approach, to be using this choice of lens for landscape photography, but I believe it gives my landscapes a unique perspective; almost a 3D-ish quality not found in any other lens.
I have been honing my skills since purchasing this outstanding lens back in February, 2011, and have learned how best to reduce the substantial amount of typical fisheye distortion simply by how the scene is composed, rather than resorting to distortion correction software.
This is currently my lens of choice for my Fogo Island landscapes. For more detailed information, read my article entitled "My view of the Samyang 8mm f/3.5 fisheye lens" under the "Articles" heading on this website.
I hope you enjoy browsing through my Fogo Island fisheye landscape captures! Be sure to keep checking back, as I am regularly adding new images to these galleries.
